The Creative Team E-mail

Together, a team of passionate New Yorkers created an insightful look into the political games played by our so-called 'Leaders'.

Peter Gleason: Creative Director

pete-gleasonThe concept of this game grew from Peter's frustration with both the hypocrisy and incompetence of our elected and appointed officials. Peter, both a retired New York City firefighter and a military officer in the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve, has seen firsthand how self-serving administrators put themselves ahead of the public good.

Whether put in terms of Fire Commissioner Thomas Von Essen circumventing the bidding process that put substandard radios in the hands of firefighters on Sept. 11th, or the Commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, Admiral Robert Kramek, closing the largest military installation in New York Harbor, Governors Island, a few short years after the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center, these men did nothing more than diminish our first line of defense against enemy attack. - Peter Gleason

Kevin Doherty: Art Director

kevin-72.jpgA graduate of Manhattan's High School of Art and Design, Kevin honed his skills under the legendary Richard Taylor. Combining his sense of adventure and an innate artistic flair, Kevin became a New York City Police Officer a few years after high school. With an uncanny artistic ability, Kevin, while a member of the NYPD's elite Manhattan South Task Force, earned the nickname "Rockwell" (as in 'Norman') for his ability to create visual interpretations that enabled the viewer to feel a familiarity upon first glance. After 20 years, and many a solved mystery, Kevin hung up his gun belt to pursue his passion for art. Kevin's involvement in this project could have never been envisioned from his humble beginnings in Cardiff, Wales.

As an avid baseball fan, I am perplexed by the speed at which the two new ballparks in New York City are being built while the World Trade Center site is still undeveloped with not as much as a memorial to those who perished on that tragic day. Shame on our elected officials. - Kevin Doherty

Malcolm Jackson: Graphic Designer

malcolm-72.jpgThe youngest member of this project, Malcolm brings a unique perspective of Generation Y. Malcolm is enrolled in the Art Institute of New York, with this, his first major artistic project.

My contemporaries of Generation Y realize that the opportunities afforded the prior generations no longer exist. The social commentary this game makes personifies the malevolence of our so-called leaders. The incompetence in rebuilding the World Trade Center site is as morally contradictory as charging upwards of $200,000 for a college education that will get you a job below the poverty level. God help this country. - Malcolm Jackson
